For Your Documentary And Feature Film Needs

The appetite for documentary and feature film content on traditional and new media platforms continues to grow at an incredible pace. We advise independent producers, production funders and service providers on all aspects of documentary and feature film production — from forming a production company, raising funds and securing rights and releases, to negotiating contracts, licenses and distribution deals, and preparing “fair use” legal opinions. If it has to do with entertainment law, we’ve done it.

Intellectual Property

Guidance You Can Trust

There was a time when copyrights were mainly an afterthought. Today they are everything. The internet has also increased the importance of clearing and registering trademarks. And the law of privacy and publicity rights continues to evolve. Helping our clients protect and exploit their intellectual property, and providing guidance on how to legally use the creative work of others, including clearing rights, licensing intellectual property and applying the law of “fair use,” summarize a large part of what we do every day at Lehmann PLC.
